Senior Healthcare Assistant – Hospice at Home (Community)

37.5hrs per week (part time hours considered)
£12.21 - £12.80 per hour plus enhancements for Weekends and Bank Holiday
Full UK driving license essential

Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice in Cheltenham is Gloucestershire’s only inpatient unit for specialist palliative care.
We support people aged 18 and over who are living with life-limiting conditions such as cancer, heart failure and lung disease by combining specialist medical care for managing pain and other symptoms with other emotional, practical and spiritual support.
We are able to provide care on our inpatient unit, virtually and in person though our community hub and in people’s home though our Hospice at Home service.
About the Role:
The successful applicant will play an active role within our Community Team, providing excellent personalised care, enabling patients to be cared for in their own homes surrounded by their families and loved ones. It's all about giving them the best possible quality of life.
The support we offer is tailored to meet individuals' medical, social, spiritual and emotional needs.
The service runs 7 days per week.
Our fulltime staff work split shifts of:
08:00 - 14:00
17:00 - 21:00
About you:
Minimum Essential Criteria:
Experience delivering care in community or home-based settings
Ability to travel independently
Ability to assess and adapt care to meet individuals’ needs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
NVQ level 3 in health and social care (or equivalent)
Awareness of person-centred and inclusive care principles
Desirable Criteria:
Experience delivering lone working care
Confidence in using digital care documentation tools
