About us
Thorpe Hall Hospice is the only specialist palliative care inpatient unit in Peterborough. We provide care and support for people who are living with life-limiting conditions, as well as supporting their families.
Hospice at Home cares for patients, who live in greater Peterborough and wish to be cared for at home at the end of their life. We work closely with the wider multidisciplinary teams in order to provide seamless care for our patients, their families and significant others through one of the most difficult times of their lives.
About the Role
Here at SR we support people through a very difficult time in their lives - In order to continue this support and the expansion of Hospice at Home, we now have an exciting opportunity to appoint an experienced, highly motivated and organised administrator to join our friendly team.
Working 37.5 hours per week covers a 7 day roster (hours per day TBC) the Administrators role will be directly supporting the H@H team with administration tasks and answering the phone to relatives and other health professionals.
Tasks will include but are not limited to:
• Confidently use and produce documents using Microsoft applications
• Administrative duties include; filing, photocopying, answering the phone, organising meetings, taking minutes and distributing them.
• To establish and maintain suitable filing systems for the filing of records
• Inputting and collating concise data onto current IT systems
• Maintain a high level of accuracy in all aspects of work
• To co-ordinate and maintain online rotas for A/L, sickness, off duty.
• To report any concerns, issues or problems raised by a patient or staff member about a patient or staff member to the Team lead.
• Input compliments and complaints accurately into the datix system.
• To work as an effective team member and actively participate within the team to ensure duties and responsibilities are equally shared including covering staff absences.
• Ensure problems with S1 access is resolved (through extra training)
• Participate in mask testing to ensure excellent standards of infection control are adhered to.
• Assist in the production of data reporting
• To provide administrative and face to face support to the team on the recruitment and induction events that take place for new candidates.
• Any other duties deemed as appropriate by the Team lead or other managers.
• Manage diary meetings for the team lead and the rest of the team
About you:
The post holder will be an experienced administrator who is a self-starter, has an eye for detail and has and is able to work well under pressure with conflicting demands.
The successful Administrator will :
? Be able to use MS Office applications confidently including word, excel. S1 experience is desirable but not essential.
? Support the team lead, respecting confidentiality, with administrative tasks.
? Need experience of working in a busy office environment
? Be highly organised, methodical when prioritising your own workload.
? Have a willingness to learn new skills in order to support the team..
? Work as part of a team.
? Be able to work flexibly covering a 7 day period
? Excellent telephone and customer service skills
? Where appropriate, be able to be diplomatic, discrete and sensitive
? Maintain confidentiality at all times
? Occasionally you may deal with complex issues which arise that are outside of the normal standard procedures.
