If so, join us in this exciting new role as Deputy Bereavement Services Manager, playing a critical role in Sue Ryder’s ambitious plans to grow the scope and scale of its bereavement services, being a national leader in the delivery, design, evidencing and influencing of bereavement support for people experiencing grief in the UK.
Responsibilities include:
• Manage the day-to-day running of the Online Bereavement Counselling Service using a time-limited 6-session model, working closely with the Bereavement Services Manager and supported by 3 Team Leaders.
• Oversee the provision of level 3 (NICE guidance 2004) time-limited one-to-one therapeutic online counselling service to clients, which addresses bereavement needs and includes a triage/assessment step using clinical tools including the Adult Attitude to Grief scale
• Ensure that all Online Bereavement Counsellors always establish and follow OBCS clinical operational procedures with clients and conduct effective therapeutic assessments with clients and create successful online therapeutic alliances
• Investigate and respond to clients’ comments, complaints, critical incidents and near misses, prepare reports as required and implement learnings
• Deputise for the Bereavement Services Manager (BSM) in all duties as necessary.
To join us as Deputy Bereavement Services Manager you’ll need:
• To be a qualified counsellor with a Diploma/Degree/Masters in Counselling or Psychotherapy (in line with minimum practising standards of BACP/UKCP)
• Leadership and management skills for managing our team of home-based online bereavement counsellors, team leaders and clinical administrators
• Accreditation with a relevant professional body such as BACP/UKCP
• Significant knowledge of working with bereavement, loss and grief, with clinical experience of complex client issues and risk
• Experience in quality and governance is essential as you’ll be responsible for ensuring that this service is ethical, safe and professional
• Excellent communication and organisational skills in order to manage the diverse aspects of this role.
This is a national service and occasional travel may be required.
