Salary £32,322 - £36,428 (£16.53 - £18.63 per hour) pro rata plus enhancement.

About us
Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice is the only specialist palliative care inpatient unit in Peterborough and provides expert palliative care and support for people who are living with life-limiting conditions, as well as supporting their families.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and dedicated Senior Nurses who are wanting to progress in their career during offering excellent standards of care at this inviting, warm and friendly Palliative care centre.
About the Role
This is a key role that requires the post holder to have significant experience in palliative care. Strong leadership skills are essential to ensure the staff nurses and nursing assistants are well supported through clinical leadership and supervision.
Responsibilities:
• Medicines management including administering regular medications and setting up of syringe drivers and IV medications
• Specialist symptom management
• Confident communication skills in dealing with patients and their carers at end of life
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised care using evidence based guidelines
• Liaise with the multidisciplinary team over service user care
• Maintain all records in line with corporate policies and procedures
• Carry out all clinical procedures in line with Sue Ryder policies
• Ensure the care team provide all care in line with the multi professional evidence based care plan
• Act as a mentor and role model to new and junior staff

About you
Are you a NMC registered nurse with post registration experience, looking for a new challenge and wish to join a dedicated team who deliver excellent and personalised palliative and end of life care? We are looking for an exceptional nurse with strong leadership skills to further develop and support our In-Patient Unit Team.
Our ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic senior nurse with proven experience in palliative care and symptom management. If you have experience in palliative care or oncology, either in the community or a hospital setting and can demonstrate experience of leading and developing teams, we would like to hear from you.
You will have background and skills in:
• Nurse-led management of long term conditions
• Clinical leadership
• Leading clinical practice development for client group
• Proven skills in leading, building and influencing a team
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including an ability to communicate difficult messages to service users and their families
• Negotiation and conflict management skills
• An ability to provide teaching and mentorship in a clinical setting
• Able to effectively manage change
