The Chantry have an exciting opportunity for Physiotherapy Assistant to assist in providing the best possible quality of physiotherapy care and support to service users. This exciting role will involve working closely with all members of the Therapy team and Nursing team as required.
Our service provides 26 residential beds where there are exciting opportunities for professional growth and development across complex disability, high dependency care and slow stream rehabilitation. We are also able to provide innovative ways of working within the level 2 rehabilitation unit which offers 6 beds. You would be working closely with the in-house multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists, and occupational therapists, to support goal setting and best outcomes for all clients.
Your role:
•To promote choice in all aspects of clinical practice reviewing and making suggestions to enhance the service users experience and enabling concerns and complaints to be raised freely by service users and their representatives
•It is expected that all staff will participate openly and honestly in any investigation when care falls below expected standards
•To contribute to care plans and physiotherapy assessments in order to optimise independence and physical function
•To maintain a clean and tidy working environment e.g. wipe plinths, change pillowcases
•To prepare service users and treatment areas for activity e.g. the initial greeting of service users and carers, assisting with dressing and undressing
Experience and skills required:
•Excellent interpersonal skills
•An ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
•IT literate
Qualifications required:
•Minimum of N/SVQ2 or equivalent. Willing to study for N/SVQ3 or equivalent
•A demonstrable understanding of the health and social care sector work
