Sue Ryder is looking to recruit a Face to Face Regular Giving Manager to join our dedicated Public Fundraising Team. Your role will lead on managing the relationships with our third party Face to Face agencies to help deliver acquisition targets for both our Regular Giving and Lottery products.
You may be an experienced Individual Giving or Community Fundraiser looking for that next step or be an Account Manager with experience of relationship management looking to enter the charity sector to help Sue Ryder deliver more care to more people.
The role would work with third party agencies to train and influence their ways of working to engage with our suppliers and their canvassers in the field to ensure Sue Ryder’s brand, reputation and key messaging are upheld. Reporting data and managing postcodes to ensure no overlap between agencies, this is a hands on role that is key to delivering donor acquisition growth at Sue Ryder.
There would be an expectation that whoever fills this role will spend time each week in the field working directly with canvassers to train and influence their ways of working and enhancing the agencies relationships with our local care centres. As such the role would ideally suit someone within travelling distance from any of our Hospice care centres.
Scope of the job:
• Overall accountability for the best practice of third party face to face canvassing teams, both door to door and private sites, promoting our Regular Giving and Lottery products.
• Assisting third party agencies to achieve key performance indicators for canvassing teams.
• Manage the relationship with multiple third party agencies and assist the Regular Giving Manager with their performance.
• Ensure all face to face activity complies with the relevant legislation, internal policies and the Fundraising Regulator codes of practice.
• Regularly supervise agency training, induction and field shadowing processes.
• Hold regular catch up sessions with canvassers and Community Fundraising teams to ensure localised messaging is up to date and optimise local canvassing opportunities at fundraising events.
• Make approaches to internal and external decision makers to book and confirm regular giving promotions and venues.
• Assist in piloting new recruitment venues, products, channels and opportunities.
• Ensure private site venues from agencies are registered with the relevant regulators for levy purposes.
• Create and deliver brand training to canvassers and teams ensuring key Sue Ryder messages for each geographic location are understood and delivered appropriately to the public.
Qualifications and skills required:
• Educated to GCSE level or higher, including C grade in Maths and English plus relevant experience in a similar role.
• Ability to remotely manage large volume sales activity effectively whilst achieving results (essential).
• Experience of managing and training face to face or Community Fundraising teams or account managing external agencies (essential).
• Outstanding customer service skills (essential).
• Demonstrated experience in building networks / relationships (essential).
• Willingness to work some anti-social hours including some overnight trips to Sue Ryder care centre locations (essential).
• Experience of managing and training face to face fundraising or sales teams (desirable).
• Experience of managing third party agencies (desirable).
• Performance management (desirable).
