Due to internal promotion within Sue Ryder, we are excited to be looking to recruit a new Community Fundraising and Operations Officer to join the team in Thorpe Hall Hospice, Peterborough.
This is a wide-ranging role where you can make your mark. You will be instrumental in supporting our fundraising efforts in Peterborough, Stamford and the surrounding areas. In addition to providing operational support to the fundraising team, you will be managing your own volunteers and giving exceptional customer care to our fundraising supporters.
Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice is the only specialist palliative care inpatient unit in Peterborough and provides expert palliative care and support for people who are living with life-limiting
conditions, as well as supporting their families. We are also the only unit with a multi-disciplinary team which includes doctors, nurses, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, complementary therapy, bereavement counsellors, and psychological and spiritual support. About the role:
To support and assist the fundraising team to deliver income
To deliver agreed income target through management of collection tins, bucket collections and stewardship of supporter-led fundraising activities
To be the primary point of contact for people thinking about supporting Sue Ryder.
To process all donations received in line with Sue Ryder service level agreements.
To work with the Supporter Care team (based in London) to deliver an excellent level of customer care to fundraising supporters of the Charity.
To be responsible for championing and embedding supporter care and fundraising compliance best practice across the local fundraising department and amongst other key stakeholders.
Office Management
About you:
Experience of working in a customer care environment
IT literacy essential
Excellent communication skills written, oral and telephone skills including experience and ability to interact with external customers
Administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to pay close attention to detail
Ability to organise and prioritise a busy workload and to work to deadlines with the ability to pick up ad-hoc tasks where necessary
Experience of supervising volunteers
Ability to work proactively and as part of an integrated fundraising team
Experience of working with customer relationship databases and the ability to input accurately.
Experience of developing and maintaining electronic and manual administrative systems.
