Specialty Doctor in PALLIATIVE MEDICINE. Less than full time. 6.47PA/week with an additional 1.15PA and a 4% availability supplement for on call commitments (see below).
Hours of work: 6PA/week (9am-5pm) with an additional 0.47PA worked as 42 evenings/ year 5-7pm. Proposed days of work – Wed/Thur/Fri (actual days can be negotiated). 1 SPA is allocated for supporting professional activities. Study leave is available with a supporting budget.
First on call cover is provided by the out of hours 111 GP service between the hours of 8pm – 8am weeknights and between 5pm -9am weekend days and bank holidays. There is therefore a reduced on call commitment with this post to cover the remaining out of hours periods as follows:
• 1:5 weeknights (7-8pm and 8-9am the following morning. This is non-resident with the expectation of attending the IPU if needed.)
• 9 weekends a year worked as a resident shift on the IPU between 9am-5pm on Saturday and Sunday (1.09PA).
Salary: £41,158 - £76,751 pro rata (dependent on previous relevant experience)
We are: a busy consultant-led multidisciplinary team delivering inpatient specialist palliative care to the city of Peterborough and its surrounding areas.
You are: an enthusiastic and experienced doctor capable of delivering high quality patient care with full GMC registration, 4 years full time postgraduate training at least 2 of which will be in a relevant specialty and a full UK driving licence. Palliative Medicine experience is desirable. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau.
