About Sue Ryder
Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times of their lives. Whether that’s a terminal illness or the loss of a loved one – we’re there when it matters.
About the role
Following the success of Sue Ryder’s Grief Kind Spaces, we are excited to be recruiting a dedicated Area Grief Kind Space Co-ordinator who will focus on developing these community drop-in services.
This role will cover the South, East, West and North Yorkshire – focusing on Leeds, Bradford, Keighley, and the individual will be expected to travel significantly across this area.
Grief Kind Spaces are weekly, in-person sessions run by trained volunteers in community settings, providing a safe and supportive place for people to come together and share experiences of bereavement and grief.
Please read the accompanying Job Description for further information.
About you
We are looking for a self-starter who has proven experience of delivering volunteer-led services within community settings, including for people with protected characteristics. The successful candidate will work autonomously to identify potential locations for these services and will support the full delivery of each Grief Kind Space, including securing the venue, recruiting, training and overseeing volunteers and general day to day operational support for all Grief Kind Spaces within their area.
The individual should have experience working at a managerial level, with the ability to demonstrate the skills required to work within a bereavement service and with experience of supporting volunteers through reflective practice and delivering supervision.
