About us

At the Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice and community nursing services across Berkshire West, we look after people living with life-limiting conditions and offer support for families too.

Hospice care is the treatment and support we offer to people with life-limiting conditions. We combine specialist medical care for managing pain and other symptoms, with other emotional, practical and spiritual support.


About you

Who we are looking for an experienced manger to provide robust and effective leadership to a specialised therapy team. The post will support the Senior Management Team in the delivery of services, quality improvement and clinical governance.

The successful applicant will need to have relevant experience and qualifications as seen below.

Relevant post-registration training and experience and relevant leadership experience and training in a health/social care setting

Member of an appropriate Professional Specialist Interest Group is desirable

Evidence of Continued Professional Development Qualifications:

Diploma/BSc Occupational Therapy or Diploma/BSc Physiotherapy

Registered with Health and Care Professionals Council. Current registration with Professional Body (RCOT/CSP) if appropriate OR Registered Nurse with NMC registration.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team working with specialist in Palliative Care. For full job details please view the attached Job description.

Responsible for overseeing service delivery from referral to discharge to ensure treatment programmes are planned and delivered effectively.

To maintain an awareness of the caseloads of the team to ensure the most effective and efficient service is provided

To be responsible for leading clinical governance activity within the team with regard to clinical risk management and for implementing clinical governance policies, standards and guidelines.

Responsible for ensuring a high standard of service, delivered within local and national guidelines and within the resources available. To ensure documentation produced by other members of the team is in line with professional and Sue Ryder standards

Responsible for the day-to-day management and leadership of staff within the service and provide support to staff as required.
