We are looking for experienced Senior Care Assistants to join our dedicated team at Dee View. In this role you will provide direct supervision, coaching and mentoring to junior staff for a period of 6 months.

About us:
Sue Ryder Dee View Court in Kincorth, Aberdeen, is currently Scotland's only purpose-built specialist neurological centre providing care for people living with complex neurological conditions, including Huntington’s disease, multiple sclerosis and acquired brain injuries. We have exciting career and development opportunities for Experienced Care Assistants of all levels.

Our newly expanded Neurological Care centre has 36 single bedrooms available for residential care and 7 supported living apartment for two people, which has a kitchen and a lounge to help people maintain their independence for as long as possible.

About the role:
• Carry out and delegate care and support tasks whilst ensuring a safe, clean and comfortable environment
• Ensure that the rights and choices of individuals are actively promoted and supported and their beliefs and preferences are appropriately acknowledged
•Participate openly and honestly in any investigation if care falls below expected standards
•To take instruction from line management with regarding communicating with service users and their representatives following an incident
•Ensure accurate reporting and documentation
•To participate in care planning implementation and review as a key worker
•To promote the values, build morale and encourage others to perform to high standards
•To carry out designated clinical tasks

About you:
• You must have S/NVQ/QCF Level 3 or equivalent
• Numerate and literate
• Computer Literacy - To have a functional knowledge of word processing, use of e-mail and internet to enable effective use of the Sue Ryder information technology systems
• Good communication skills
• Experience of working within a team
• Flexibility
• Demonstrable skills in leadership and supervision
• 2 years relevant care work experience
• Audit awareness
• Coaching and mentoring experience and or qualifications
• Competencies that are specific to the speciality

Later this year Care Concern Group will take over the ownership of Dee View Court, Aberdeen and all staff employed by Sue Ryder at that service will transfer to the Care Concern Group.
Within the Care Concern Group is a specialist division providing care to residents living with complex physical and/or mental health needs including residents living with neurological conditions similar to the residents that are supported at Dee View Court.
