About the role
Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer you will partner with Management Accounts and Business Units to lead monthly variance analysis providing commercial oversight and knowledge, communicating results to the Chief Finance Officer. You will drive the continuous improvement of finance systems and processes and developing and strengthen stakeholder relationships, while assisting in improving and developing financial awareness across Sue Ryder.
Key Responsibilities
• Evaluate investment appraisals and business cases to ensure maximum benefit is being generated for Sue Ryder.
• Act as a key commercial partner to the leadership team by providing analytical support for strategic initiatives and identifying growth opportunities.
• Oversee the production of the monthly consolidated management accounts with associated commentary.
• Lead and manage the financial planning for annual budget and quarterly financial and P&L forecasts, partnering with all appropriate stakeholders.
• Partner with Management Accounts to deliver a high quality and insightful end to end month end process by analysing financial performance versus forecast.
• Lead the FP&A team in acting as trusted Business Partners to the Business Unit Directors and Senior Leadership Team by building effective working relationships in order to maximise financial opportunities and reduce risk for the business.
About you
• Strong commercial acumen, a good understanding of the Charity sector would be desirable.
• Confident with strong influencing and interpersonal skills and proven ability to motivate and encourage positive change.
• Knowledge of utilising key management information & systems to drive improved performance & develop financial strategies
Essential Criteria
• Post qualification experience in a financial analysis role or experience in positions providing financial business insights in a complex business environment.
• Advanced Excel & business modelling skills.
• Proven experience of inspiring, motivating, coaching, mentoring & managing staff to build high performing teams
• Experience of working with senior business leaders to improve performance.
• Significant experience of leading a team in forecast & budget preparation & variance analysis, to include supporting and challenging assumptions.
