We have a growing demand for bereavement counselling, so we are seeking to recruit qualified and experienced therapists to join our expanding service.


We are a fast-growing team in a service specialising in time limited bereavement counselling. We are seeking a qualified and accredited BACP, UKCP or HCPC therapist (counsellor, psychotherapist or psychologist) to deliver focused, outcome-informed grief support remotely. We are entering an exciting phase of growth as we transition to a flexible support model offering both single-session therapy and up to six-session interventions. We are looking for experience of working with bereavement and delivering time-limited counselling online, and by telephone on occasion. We would welcome applications from therapists with additional training in working online & telephone, although further training may be available.


Working hours are between 8am & 8pm Monday to Friday - we have a particular demand for evening appointments.

We would welcome applications from counsellors with experience in BSL.


Responsibilities include:

- Providing online single-session therapy and time-limited counselling (up to 6 sessions) to individuals experiencing bereavement (national)
- Providing online single-session therapy and time-limited counselling (up to 6 sessions) to patients in our hospice communities and their families (local but online)
- Working with the AAG (Adult Attitude to Grief scale)
- Working ethically and in line with organisational policy and procedure
- Confidential, timely and accurate record keeping

- Being supportive towards the ongoing development of the service


Essential skills and competencies:

- Qualified and accredited therapist with substantial post qualifying experience and knowledge of bereavement issues and models.
- Experience of providing time-limited counselling by video link is essential.
- Formal training in online counselling is desirable (minimum of 80 hours CPD).
- You will be responsible for ensuring that your practice is safe and confidential, in line with quality and governance policies and procedures.
- An ability to work flexibly and adapt to change.
- You will need a quiet, private workspace and reliable high speed internet connection.
- As a home based worker it is important that you’re able to form effective and positive relationships within the team and the wider organisation.


This is a national service and occasional travel may be required.
