Duties include:
Taking food orders from patients;
Assisting in the preparation of meals and refreshments;
Assisting in serving meals and refreshments;
Ensuring the kitchen is kept clean and equipment maintained.
To be successful in this role you will need to be flexible with excellent people, team working and communication skills. Specific catering experience is not necessary as full training will be provided but general cooking abilities are important. You must have (or be willing to obtain on commencement of employment) a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and be competent in IT use.
Duchess of Kent is a Sue Ryder hospice, based in Reading. We’re here for people aged 18 and over living with conditions like cancer, heart failure and lung disease. We offer a range of support from our three sites, from inpatient care at the 15-bed Duchess of Kent Hospice in Reading, day services which help people stay at home longer and offer respite to carers, to Wokingham Day Hospice and Charles Clore Day Hospice in Newbury.
