If you are an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse with an interest in palliative care, oncology and other life limiting conditions, there is an opportunity to join the fantastic inpatient unit at Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice in Leeds.
Wheatfields Hospice are here for people aged 18 and over living with conditions like cancer, heart failure and lung disease. We support the person living with a life limiting condition aiming to ease or prevent symptoms, and offer psychological and spiritual support to the person, their families and friends. You will have a key role in achieving the best quality of life for patients by using a holistic approach to facilitate and maintain independence and there will be involvement in the delivery of specialist services for non-pharmacological symptom management.
We operate a Team Nursing approach to the in-patient unit, each team comprising of six patients and line management of approximately 9.6 whole time equivalent nursing staff made up of Registered Nurses and Nursing Assistants. Access to in-service training and courses on and off site in line with CPD and Service Development are available. As a senior member of staff you will have a commitment to student, staff education and development.
We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join us as a Team Leader with a minimum of 5 years’ experience. You will be based in the In Patient Unit working as an integrated member of multi-disciplinary teams in the Day Therapy Unit, In-patient Unit and Community Team. You will need to demonstrate a holistic approach to patient care, knowledge of palliative care, management experience and contribute to the development of services. Access to in-service training and courses on and off site in line with CPD and Service Development are available. As a senior member of staff you will have a commitment to student and staff education and development.
