If so join us in this newly created role to creatively shape our learning and organisational development strategy as well as drive engagement, performance improvement and team leadership across the charity.
At Sue Ryder we are looking for an enthusiastic Head of Learning and Organisational Development who will play an integral role in transforming our culture through collaborative engagement across our Retail, Healthcare and Business functions. As well as refreshing our behaviours in line with our recent brand update, you’ll lead our high performing Doncaster based L&D team to continue the successful delivery of high quality training. Working closely with the Director of People and Senior Managers, you’ll ensure high levels of performance management and leadership development. The role has a broad agenda with plenty of opportunity to be creative whilst supporting our ambitious 5 year strategy to provide more care to more people.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the delivery of the 5 Year Strategy, in particular the culture change programme working closely with the Head of Diversity and Wellbeing to embed a continuous learning culture and drive people engagement.
• Developing and leading an engagement strategy at directorate level within Sue Ryder, ensuring the right level of support is in place.
• You will be responsible for the annual staff survey, using the data to form action plans at directorate level and develop the engagement champion role as an operational model, ensuring a regular and effective programme of dialogue, feedback and events.
• Lead and develop the L&D team to ensure our approach to performance management and the processes and systems we adopt, are fit for purpose and adding value, including E-learning provisions.
• Working with the Reward Manager to align performance related pay and ensure performance management process are in place to supports this
• Working with the Head of Resourcing and Talent Management, to identify talent and develop pathways for development across Sue Ryder.
• Deliver an Apprenticeship scheme across the charity, which supports talent management, recruitment and retention and service requirements
• Work closely with the Professional Education team in our centres to ensure a joined up development pathway for our nursing and care staff.
About You
Ideal candidates will have successful demonstrable experience of leading high impact employee engagement strategies as well as an understanding of brand and culture change. Experience of collaborative working across large geographically spread organisations is also highly desirable in order to build and maintain relationships across all levels including senior leadership. You’ll have proven experience of leading a learning team as well as knowledge of talent development frameworks. CIPD or an equivalent training qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
