Sue Ryder St John's Community Service, Moggerhanger, Bedford MK44 3RJ
Our Community Service is looking for Nursing Assistants to join our friendly team. As a Nursing Assistant for the Palliative Care Hub team you will support the telephone service and provide care/support to patients and their family/carers during the day and at night in their own home.
On occasion duties will also include supporting the St John's Hospice in-patient unit.
The Palliative Care Hub team, based at Woburn Court in Kempston, co-ordinates care between 15 different organisations and provides a single point of contact via a 24-hour telephone line, making these services more accessible for the patient, their family, carers and professionals. The service operates 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. The Service offers both day and night care in the home for palliative patients and their families to help prevent hospital admission, crisis, or to facilitate hospital discharge, give a short term care package and support families/carers.
Applicants should be enthusiastic and highly motivated to provide a high standard of care for our patients and their families. Previous experience within the community or a palliative care setting is preferred although not essential. Training will be given and development of your role will be encouraged.

At Sue Ryder not only do we treat more conditions than any other UK charity in our hospices, neurological care centres and out in the community; we also campaign to improve the lives of people living with them. We see the person, not the condition, taking time to understand the small things that help that person live the fullest life they can. Our shops, fundraising and volunteers support us to be there for people at the most difficult time of their lives.
