Salary – £26,476 – £32,967 per annum

We are currently recruiting for a Wellbeing Coordinator to be based at Sue Ryder Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice in Keighley.
The Wellbeing Coordinator will work as part of the Wellbeing and Community Support Services team who are responsible for helping us to provide more of the support that people need, in more accessible ways, to more communities. They will do this by:
• Introducing a range of emotional support aligned to the specific needs of the individual.
• Connecting service users or families with practical support, where needed, including links to social care.
• Working with relevant local faith and community leaders, local organisations and other local groups and individuals to support spiritual and specialist diverse needs of service users and family members.
• Increasing Sue Ryder’s wellbeing community-based services
• Continuing to develop and implement local and national initiatives which support the wellbeing of staff and volunteers across the Charity.
About the role
The Wellbeing Co-ordinator provides day to day support to patients and those close to them who are coming to terms with an end-of-life diagnosis or who are actively dying or are grieving
They will take a holistic approach to an individual’s emotional wellbeing, and will focus on ‘what matters to me’, connecting people to appropriate diverse community groups, other support organisations or statutory services for practical and appropriate support, with the support of trained volunteers.
The Wellbeing Co-ordinator will work as a key part of the local hospice team and around the local community footprint and will work individually with patients and families who may feel isolated, lonely, scared, or have needs that may affect their mental and emotional wellbeing.
About you
To be successful in your application to the post of Wellbeing Coordinator, you will hold a qualification in healthcare, social care or healthcare support services.
Additionally, you should be able to demonstrate:
• Experience of providing face to face, one to one support, actively listening and empathising, providing person-centred, non-judgemental and non-discriminatory support, respecting diversity and lifestyle choices
• Experience of working within palliative care services – including an understanding of public health in palliative care and the ethos of compassionate communities
• Experience of working in voluntary or community sector including managing or supervising volunteers
• Experience of working collaboratively with other groups and organisations to meet the needs of individuals - sourcing and providing links with and integrate ongoing support with other providers
• Understanding of the needs of small volunteer led community groups and the ability to support their development
• Experience of organising, planning and prioritising own workload including under pressure and in extremely challenging emotional situations.
• Ability to identify risk and assess/manage risk when working with individuals
• Social prescribing experience advantageous
